PARTITION pillowcase

The PARTITION pillowcase is Celso de Lemos bed linen in a silk and cotton cloth. An uneven grid of light lines is woven into the cloth, on a honey-coloured ground. The pillowcase has a 5 cm flange, and its back is a plain sateen in Naturel. It closes as an envelope. The 30 × 40 cm size has no flange. Its back carries the pattern and a plain piping runs along its edge. That size closes with a zip. There are ten sizes, from a 30 × 40 cm pillow to an 80 × 80 cm one.

The cloth is woven from silk and extra-long-staple Egyptian Giza cotton, half of each. This cotton grows along the Nile and is picked by hand. Two per cent of Egypt's cotton is extra-long-staple. The longer the fibre, the finer the yarn that can be spun from it. A fine yarn gives a smooth, durable cloth. A square metre of the PARTITION cloth weighs 125 g.
